The offseason life of a Shorthair

:coolpics::10sign: Looks a lot like the off season life of a springer dog.

My gsp does the same thing every day after looking for rabbits and phez....Phil

good grief I hope you have a fan blowing on him and dinner ready at five, slippers at 7 and a nightcap at 9 !!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

 Funny that pic pretty much depicts my GSP this summer. Been a real warm summer so far and combine that with me being layed up and recovering from knee replacement surgery, there hasn't been much conditioning work at all.

sorry to hear of your knee surgery- I was supposed to have it done- but passed- thought a little possitive thinking and not doing anything strenous woud be the best medicine- VS- the knife

I think I'm the lazziest fella arrond once hunting season ends- but then again- the Britt's are as lazy as me-

we go for a walk! every now and then- you'd think these lazy Britt's would walk with me- ahh man- I think I need to get in shape-

mine sleep on the bed- but you best not look at a gun or hunting outfit- they are too wired up- they are smart- lazy- but- they don't know what 100 degrees means

Ahhh.... No need to be sorry, it's a piece of cake ;) Actually this is a redo of a total knee I had done on this knee 4 years ago. It's been bothering me for the past year and the doc finally determined that it most likely was coming loose, and it was. Hope it lasts a little longer this time.:(

I'm actually getting to be an old pro at this as I had my other knee done 7 years ago and all seems to be fine with that one. It's amazing how fast you can recover if you follow the Physical Therapy religiously. It's been almost 2 weeks and I'm already walking around fine without a cane.

sorry , didn't mean to highjack the thread.

glad you have such a possitive attitude

compressed 2 vertabrea some years back- funny- I never went under the knife- hit a tree skiing- broke a couple ribs- messed up the knee- no knife

got some aches- no big deal- I can still walk and go fairly good behind the Britt's

no complaints- life is good

Actually, he prefers to lay underneath the ceiling fan or over the air conditioning ducts -never seen a dog like him -he runs constantly with the kids from the neighborhood, "practices" by pointing squirrels a the bird feeder (they'll actually stand 3 feet from each other for an hour) and then he runs up on the deck, jumps in the pool and does a couple of laps and goes back at it. He's 77 pounds of solid muscle, the vet asked me last weel if I was feeding him steroids since he's never seen a pointer this ripped year round -either way, he's my pal and all he needs is me to change into hunting clothes and the offseason is over!!!!!

That looks like mine too, only she likes to lay on top of us in that pose. It's been 40 something days of 100+ heat here in Dallas, so not much outdoor work for the pup.

It's been a tough summer for us in NC also -not much time for conditioning with the temps in the 90's -thank god for the pool but it's going to make for a tough task getting enough work in before we leave for SD.
