Pheasant Industry in SD

Those pheasant preserve places are outrageously expensive!! I'm surprised people are willing to pay that kind of money to pheasant hunt.

Golfing trips, downhill skiing trips, fly-in fishing trips…nothing’s cheap…I don’t do those things, but know people who do…$1,000/day when it’s all lumped together? I suppose…travel, lodging, food/booze, green fees, lift tickets, etc, etc…

Skin is not all that expensive if you stay away from the huge resorts, and use your camper. Golf can be done reasonably cheaply if you stay away from the fancy golf courses. Paid huge money to go to some Gucci pheasant hunting ranch, is considered by me to be low bagger.

Preserves have their place. The public at large gets to hunt and shoot…a lot. Without hurting wild places and wild birds. They also keep the public interested and voting for hunting and conservation. Again while not really impacting the wild. I don’t really want 6 of me in the back of beyond pockets bulging with shells and tail feathers sticking out of the bag. Tell the civilians what they want to hear-good shot, way to go, man that’s great. I’ll keep Tinkham Town to myself.

I’m simply stating the obvious, that lots of guys routinely drop big $ to recreate, and yes, all those things can be done inexpensively as well. There’s a market for everything, including guys that want to travel to Gucci lodges and shoot released birds. To each his own! They’re not crowding the public spots, that’s for sure! 😝 The only
thing I know FOR SURE, is that if you’re not paying for sex, you’re paying WAY too much! ❤️

I have a few friends that are married, and they don't get to hunt very much maybe one for five day trip per year.
