Probably over around BoiseWhere (just a state) do you hunt for that mix? Your bio has nothing, guessing southwest of here. If it is a secret, that is OK.

If you go to the Oregon page he is on there occasionally. I went up there to Bend to pick up my dog three years ago and the breeder invited me to come back and hunt that mixed bag. Unfortunately it is 16 hours or so to where he hunts so I am probably outWhere (just a state) do you hunt for that mix? Your bio has nothing, guessing southwest of here. Never mind him, he is loco. No birds in Iowa. Too late, Bob is on his way.I'm at 34, but that's a group total. I haven't killed a bird outside of opener yet, but that number will rise pretty quick over the upcoming weekend. Between 3 relatively larger group hunts during the year here in north central Iowa, it's pretty easy to eclipse the 100 mark. Plenty of public and private CRP, dredge ditches, groves, etc., that hold a lot of birds.
If I still have the drive once I retire, I might get out of Iowa and humble myself trying for some different upland birds. If you go to the Oregon page he is on there occasionally. It’s beautiful up there in eastern Oregon and I have thought the same thing myself. I travel to ND once a season and it is 12+. Used to have good hunting a couple hours away in north central Missouri/ Iowa. But I need to get 6-7 hours away anymore. If I still have the drive once I retire, I might get out of Iowa and humble myself trying for some different upland birds.
57 is 19 limits. You need to have a big place to yourself or a lot of places available to you and shoot reasonably well. Heck, 15 days in SD, take a couple of subpar shooters along, who are OK with you help them fill their limits and that has a real good chance on shooting your age with just those filthy SD birds. Just avg. 4 birds a day. Oh and don't take B-B with you, that would be the wrong guy for your mission!Remy I’ll be 57.
I don’t see how I could do it with out 10 or 15 days in Sd.
I hunt mostly public anymore. I don’t want to burn bridges by pounding Ks private I have permission on. When I was 30 I didn’t care.
I think he meant 57 years old…but as always, could be wrong…57 is 19 limits. You need to have a big place to yourself or a lot of places available to you and shoot reasonably well. I’m truly overjoyed when my pals get the best shooting. Last Wednesday, my buddy showed up that I hadn’t hunted with in quite a few years..I advised him to hunt a certain way…he knew the drill…he had already got a bird on some CREP a mile away that we hunted, then he got 4 on my ground, I got one, and we were done…I love having capable and competent hunters on my trips…many aren’t, and I try my best for my groups to fill out. If you knew how many times I credit others with getting the bird, that they likely didn’t get, you may be shocked. One of my favorite things is hearing my guys shooting, whether I can see them or not…just hearing them shoot is better, I think..,imagining what occurred is fun. Again, not a shock that lots of birds get shot when a person hunts 30-40 days in a great area…and I have pretty good dogs, and I have pretty good hearing…and I’ve been lucky with my shooting…missed 2 “lay ups” this season thus far…other misses as well, but not many. Just not a fan of the proselytizing and preaching and telling others what’s right or wrong; I don’t really know anybody on this forum except Roadscholar and MattD, and MattD I’ve never met. A forum member here PM’d me a month ago and shared some generic info with me about his opening weekend hunt, he told me enough that I knew the farmer that hosts his group. That farmer asked me to hunt with a few members of that gang late season last year, I guess because I’ve got dogs…turns out one of the two guys was the father in law of the member who PM’d me…these guys are from Missouri…3 or 4 guys with no dogs and 1 guy with 2 likely means the dog guy gets much of the shooting. Same thing happened this past Saturday…local farmer with fantastic ground needed dog power, I tromped around 6/7 miles doing my best to flush and recover birds…a few other dogs were present, good ones, too…9 of us got 27 by 2:00…much missing, some decent shooting…I think I got 5…not a big deal, shooting was fairly well distributed. People can form opinions about others, that’s natural, but to tell me how many are ok, and how many are too much, to shoot, to eat, to share with friends and family, etc, isn’t gonna fly with me. If you’ve hunted with me you’d know I’m not a game hog…my buddy was done in 25 minutes today, hunting solo on some CREP…I took off yesterday. I hunt in a really good area…lots of habitat…it’s hard not to shoot lots of birds if you’re able to walk, have decent dogs, can hear, can see, and can shoot. Hearing is really key, in my opinion…much of the time I’m very prepared for the flush and hear the bird well before seeing it. I’m preaching to the choir, I’m sure. Hope you all have a rewarding and enjoyable season, however you do it, however much or little you do it, whoever you hunt with..,be safe…57 is 19 limits. I probably hadn’t read the earlier posts, I’m probably wrong…just went back, you’re right on…I have been told here that I can't comprehend and I don't read, that could be true. I thought "shooting his age" meant shooting that number of roosters in a season. My bad. An apology is issued to all I offended.
Yeah, those Blue bloods that are hunting those place places aren't actually hunting.Thats a canned goat screw. My dad paid for as very expensive 3 days near Gregory.Sorry, I meant "hunting." A game farm isn't hunting. It's right up there with shooting at domesticated poultry.
