Your Next Dog's Name

Inspired by my favorite childhood book My Side of the Mountain, I think I will name my next pup "Frightful" after Sams hunting companion.

I just got a new pup (GSP) and he was already responding to HAWK why change it ? Next dog if i get a male either Blaze or Rocket !
Female Lucy or Hope !

What the Hell!!!! A GCB Sighting!!! I think I will name my next one Sioux, just to piss off Birdshooter!!!!:10sign::10sign:

a bit off-topic since it wasn't a hunting dog, today at my vet clinic I examined a dog whose name was "the evil pop tart" called him "pop" for short

My current pup is Oxford, he usually goes by Ox, although Oxturd has become common. The next pup will be Harvard, Harvey for short.

The best dog name on the forum here is Festus and Miss Kitty.

That's funny! :p

This thread got me thinking of unique dog names. Years ago, I worked for a company out in Northeast Texas. One of the guys I worked with invited me over for dinner with his family. Nice folks.

We arrived at his place and were greeted by a large kinda pointer/hound/something else dog. Dave yelled at him to be quiet. He called his name as "Leftover."

I thought that was neat, figuring that was what the dog was fed by the family.

I complimented him on the name. He said, "Oh, no. We called him that because he was dropped off on the side of the road outside our property. He was Leftover there."

of course. :)

Next dog will be "With a Flick of the Switch" (Flicker or Flick), to reflect the fact that my ideal dog (flushing lab) goes from couch-surfing love-sponge to cover-busting dynamo with the flick of a switch!
I'd get Flicker now, and Ruby is just cresting now at 7 years old, but I can't afford the divorce...

I going to name mine "Birdie", as in "bye bye Birdie", as the few wild birds he sees, might not finish him as a gun dog till he's five or six.
