Your Next Dog's Name

What will or might you name your next dog? Me? "Buzz." Good one-syllable name.

Either Briar or Bramble Jones.

Hank or Jake if it's a boy.

Jade if it's a girl.

Of course that is subject to change if the next one has a certain look that fits another name better.

When I was a kid we had a pointer named " damn you". Yea my dad would always say " come here damn you", " get in your house damn you", " quit barking damn you". Poor dog thought his name was damn you, not Saddle. Of course my dad said that alot. I wasn't sure me and the dog didn't have the same name.

Have no idea. Have a dog named Roo, and can be fun when hunting with other people. Good thing I didn't name him rooster, thou it might add more excitement to our hunts.

Got a Hank right now . . . assuming I get a next one, I've always liked Gus.

On second thought I named John Paul "Jp" after Led Zeppelin's bass player so maybe I should stick with the theme and name my next one Bonham.:D

Then I'll just need Page and Plant and I'll be set.

bitch

That's a joke. We give our dogs very affectionate names. Although, sometimes I do mumble other names under my breath.

Some years ago, I had a dog that would not learn to wait at the door after I opened it. Darned thing kept charging out to the car, shoving my leg out of the way.

As it happens, I live on a hillside in rolling valley terrain, with the acoustics of a good opera house, so every time I ... er ... vocalized at the dog, it would rebound off the hillsides down the valley.

One day, I got a knock at the door, and lo and behold, there were a couple of evangelical christian missionaries, come to speak with me because of my reputation as a very devout person.

I was puzzled. Didn't sound like me.

Then the dog came charging out from the kitchen and pushed past me. I screamed "JEZUZ !!!" as was my habit.

The dog ignored me and went to wait by the car.

The missionaries looked at me, thanked me for my time, and went back to their vehicle.

:D

Had me one of those "AHA" moments.

Probably wouldn't be a suitable name for a field dog, though.

I'm going to revert to the old family tradition of naming our animals after famous political figures.

We had Khrushchev the Pig, Sadat the horse, Carter the chicken......

I pick up my new pup next Wdenesday! At first we were gonna name her Maddy. Then we changed our mind to June. Now we are on to Darby. Who knows by the time I come home with her. I do like what QH is doing................. Paige. I kind of like that, and am a huge Zeppelin fan as well.

You aren't going to sue me for copyright infringement QH, are ya!

Jimmy would be soooo honored! :D

'Course, then again, I've thought about naming a pup "Twice." that way, when I call the dog & folks ask me why I named him "Twice," I can smile and reply ""Cuz he never comes if I call him once" . . .

Blue River's Huntin Here n There, "Drifter"
Blue River's Elm Street Nightmare "Freddy"
The Blue River Just Kept Runnin "Forest"
Blue River's Prairie Wind Comin " Breeze"

Gave up a couple pups the last couple years with 2 of these, Forest and Freddy, But not on paper so who knows, LOL. I like Breeze for my next girl and Drifter for a new boy. Hoping for both this spring. It's always fun trying to come up with a catchy name. I found it to be a good idea to write them down as you think of them, cause I have forgot a few good ones before.:D And your like "what the h was that" I also try not to copy another's name I know of. "Knowingly";)
