Your "Go-To" gun and why?

In my opinion, 870s are great guns. I have a super mag that was made around the year 2000 that was given to me by a good buddy who passed away, I still use that gun a fair amount, and shoot it pretty well, I had an 870 special purpose that was made around 1990, that I actually accidentally ran over with my pickup, but I shot that gun well on geese and pheasant for 20 years before I broke it. Yeah I really like the 8 70 Remington.

My dad gave me an 1187 12 gauge in 1999, he bought it brand new, in Butte Montana. I have really enjoyed that gun, and it's my go-to pheasant gun, I really it's a premier, great gun.
 
2 years ago I paid $2,300, for a Gucci 28 gauge stack barrel Beretta, and I really like it, but it isn't really a lot of firepower, it's very late, and it's very fast, and easy to carry.

I've got a couple of those on my watch list on G.B. now. I'm trying to decide whether to by one or have mine with 28'' tubes cut down and chokes installed.

It’s actually a very lively gun. I believe the light weight and long barrels flow good for me. I tend to be a snap shooter and this gun seems smooths out , creating a better swing/follow through. It’s based on the Aurum platform but has a solid rib, nice wood and decent engraving. The action has been flawless in the 10+years I have used it.

I had one in synthetic when I first started hunting at age 16. Its all I could afford on a part time job as a teenager. I had that shotgun for 10 years before I was able to afford the Benelli. The difference is like night and day.

The 870 was reliable but it was very heavy. And it had a lot of muzzle jump which caused me to miss more birds.
 
My go to upland gun is either my Browning Citori 725 Feather 20 gauge in 28" barrels or the new model A5 16 in 28 inch barrels. The 16 gauge came first then I had the itch to get an O/U so I picked up the 20.

Both guns fit me great but the O/U seems to be perfect for me. I'm a lefty so I need guns that are arranged where a left hander can use easily.

My "grail" gun would be a Citori in 16 gauge that's about as light as my 20 gauge, with some nice wood grain, and a lightning stock. I keep waiting for Browning to come back out with one, then I'll have to buy another gun.
 
I think those 8 70 camo synthetic guns can still be had at Walmart, for around $400. That is a one great buy and I recommend that gun for people just getting into pheasant hunting.

Was told you don't need an auto so... I own five autoloaders, and five double barrels, one pump gun, and I use most of them at one time or another. For firepower, the autoloader is the way to go.

I’m looking for a new love. Not sure I’ve found it. Gave up my 870s cause of littered hulls, gave up my 16s cause of littered wads. I’m a man without a country right now.
 
I know you all might find this crazy, but several years ago, I had an over under that I didn’t use and a guy offered me a trade. He had this Russian made “Remington” semi auto 12 gauge 3 1/2” magnum black synthetic shotgun, ugly as hell, made by the same company who makes the AK 47. I looked at the reviews and made the trade.

This gun has proven to be the most reliable shotgun that I have ever possessed. It shoots trap loads all the way up to turkey and goose loads and never fails. I will run 300 rounds through it between cleanings. Most importantly, I just
point it in the general direction of a bird pull trigger and more often than not the bird dies. The model is Remington Baikal SPR 453.
