Your "Go-To" gun and why?

I am not a pretty gun type of guy, not in the field. Im more of a beater hunting gun guy so i can set it down in the mud or hunt in the rain without worry. I leave the expensive guns in the safe and take a stoeger condor or beretta a300 in the field, both 20ga. When i get older i am sure i will transition into super lightweight guns over beater, just not there yet.

Pretty guns need some field time, too.

L.H. Benelli Montefeltro 12ga, Browning Citori Lightning 16ga, and Ithaca 37 16ga. I use all 3 on S.D. wild birds. I love the light weight of all 3, especially the Ithaca 37.

Not to mention they always work. Especially if you clean them every year or two 😀 .
 
Mine is a Dickinson Sxs 20 ga with double triggers steel shot compatible, thin wall Choke tubes , shot coyotes , ducks geese , doves , quail , prairie chicken , sharp tails , Hungarian partridge and of course pheasant .

I like the double triggers for quick choke selection , right around 6 1/2 lbs and 3 inch chambers

It began life as a gorgeous shotgun, & when I bought it (I believe in 1999), it had only been fired a couple times. I've hunted pheasants with it nearly exclusively since then. It's somewhat worn now & will get worse, but its fit, feel, & performance haven't changed. Incomparable!

The last thing I need is more guns since I don't shoot most of what I have ....but a Sweet 16 is definitely one I'd consider if/when the opportunity presents itself.

My first trap gun was an 870TB with a fixed full choke. I shot it well, but eventually upgraded to a few different Browning's. My favorite was a BT99, until I thought I needed to add another barrel for doubles (I've never shot doubles) 🤦
Never went back to a single barrel gun after moving into the O/U world...

Interesting... I don't know if I've ever seen a 30" "field gun".
Those Rizzini's are beautiful and probably a good value for the craftsmanship. I'd like to see one in person sometime.

I'm a one gun guy. For probably 20 years it was a Browning Light(er) 20g A5 with a 28" barrel. Switched about 20 years ago to an Ithaca 200e in 12g with 26" barrels. I had it bent to fit me and sent the barrels to Briley for thin wall choke tubes. Most of the time I shoot it pretty well.

The A5 is still in the back of the safe looking pretty, as is the single shot 20 I used when I first started. There's also a Franchi O/U in there that I bought as a loaner for my high school trap team. By necessity it saw a little field use one year when the barrel hook on the Ithaca broke free and needed re-soldering. It also goes for a ride in the truck when I go on multi-day trips.

Some day I'll upgrade, at which point the Ithaca will also become a safe queen or maybe a travelling back up. I doubt it has much value with a bent stock :).

Hense the name a super 90 20 gauge with a 24 inch barrel and a short pull. Might of been called compact back then ? Was gifted it from my father as he no longer gets out.... this new sbe3 28 gauge is following pretty tightly behind tho. But the 20 is in the top gun case behind the seat for this weekend trip to south dakota.
 
I am still using the first shotgun I bought myself. Gave my father back his hand-me-down 870 after the purchase. For almost 4 decades I have been shooting the 11-87. It is almost a part of me after this long. No off season shooting, just grab and go. I am not good enough to be switching guns field-to-field, day-to-day. I am not gauging down, as I don't need that extra challenge.
 
Shot an 870 wingmaster for 20 years with very few times carrying something different in the field. I bought an A400 upland one week before the opener this year and cannot believe how much I like that gun. I have owned several O/U, SxSs, and various autos in the past, some are still in the safe. Never wanted to carry anything out hunting other than my 870. Now I just grab the A400 and don't even miss the 870.
 
Franchi affinity 3, I have two. My old man was a 870 live or die type. Was given a youth model 870 in 20 after I graduated from the .410. Couldn't and still can't hit anything with an 870. Was told you don't need an auto so...now I think I have 6 auto's.
