I took Tucker down to the farm last night to take advantage of the less than 100+F temps. Indy once again had cut himself running over the weekend and is out of action with staples.
I put Tuck on a CC and couple of pigeons in launchers. He is doing real well for a 10 month old.
Then I turned him loose for a run. He found a couple of wild quail. I was pretty happy with him. Stood his birds and let me flush, and finding those quail in that tall green grass, shows a strong nose.
I have been doing a fair amount of habitat work. Been doing prescribed burns of 1/3 of the pasture a year, tree removal, some covey headquarters, a pollinator plot, and a 30' milo buffer around the crop fields.
I would guess that I am hearing twice as many quail whistling this year as compared to last season.
