Wish us luck...

As I work with Texas GSP Rescue and have personally rescued many GSP's, I may have just met the most unique GSP ever. Her name is lady and she's two years old. Unfortunatley she was thrown in a metal cage in a house for a year. Weighs 28 pounds. My wife has fell in love and is nursing her along. She loves my two male GSP's and plays outside but completely withdrawn in the house or when approached. She spent this morning in my wife's classroom getting socialized with kids. Has been napping in my office this afternoon. Probably will never hunt but she will be saved.

You don’t need luck. You have a proven track record, she’s a lucky dog!

Thanks guys...she has an angel on her shoulder as well. I lost my old boy Taz (Dixie's Ramblin Rusty Rebel). His bloodline is eerily similar to Lady's. My wife seems to think Taz guided her to us...I'll keep you posted and thanks again for the encouraging comments.

Can't think of a better person for her to seek salvation with! Might be surprised what a large dose of birds might awaken in her! Take it slow and quietly and she may just find her former self!!! Good luck!

Pup's got a guardian angel directing its life if it ended up in your home. Love, attention, and play will make huge differences for it. Lucky dog to be in your home.

(My GWP was a Craig's list buy. Came from a home with no understanding of the energy and need for affection of the breed. She's four now and still shies away from a hand gesture near her head, but will push her head under my hand for more petting or skritching. She's improved from marginal hunter to fair-to-middlin', but it took time.

Lucky dog you got there. Nice work.

Lady is coming along...here she is in my yard pointing dove on the high-wire. She is still very nervous and withdrawn as you can tell by the lack of a styled tail. It's there but tucked away. She's gone from 28 pounds to 40 and she's beautiful. Thanks for the kind words and keep sending your support of Lady.

She's a great looking dog. My wife and I considering a project like that when a space opens up in our house.

Matto...just some advice from an old guy! I have rescued many many GPS's and have never found one more withdrawn than Lady. Never expect miracles, be patient, kind and loving as most rescues come from an abused situation. However, if they're a fence jumper or escape artist then all bets are off. Good luck!

Great looking dog, Jim. I sure hope she progresses for you. I think once you get that tail in the air you'll have it made. Best of luck and please keep us updated.

What a beautiful girl. Great bloodlines as well . I am predicting that this will work out very well for both of you. Thanks for sharing your story.
