Wifes

Understood Turtle, I've told her its at most a 5 hour drive to the hospital from where we typically hunt, she just doesn't get it.

Going to be a baby boy. The wife also didn't understand the need for a custom hunting knife that I bought for him. I even pointed out that he would outgrow all the clothes and shoes that are coming in, but this custom knife is only going to go up in value, plus he will have it his entire life.

Right on. Buy the boy a good shotgun he can grow into. when the diepar bills start rolling in she will not understand this purchase either but do it anyway. same as knife it only will increase in value. Little T loves his browning gold even if he still cant shoot it. He also loves his 390 berretta with a short stock he can shoot.

Anybody out there have a wife that is a avid hunter. I got my wife started pheasant hunting 4 years ago and she got hooked and now she gets really pissed when i don't take her. She's angry with me right now because i told her she couldn't go on every trip this year. Anybody else have a wife that hunts, I would love to get her hooked up with some other women that hunt so she could go with them. I will even let her use one of the dogs. I really don't mind taking her most of the time but not all the time.

I can relate. I crappie fish more than I hunt. My wife loves to crappie fish. I do get out fishing a few times a year without her. For the most part this works out great since she doesn't complain about what I spend on fishing and I enjoy having her along. There are times though that I want to go with a buddy or even by myself.

If your really desperate you could prolly get her hooked up with other men to hunt with.:D How good is that dog you would let her use? Just kidding, I had to throw that in since you were trying to hook her up with other women.

Real funny Ha Ha. Negative on the hunting with other men she wouldn't do that, not that I would be to crazy about either. I have heard of women's hunting clubs up north just don't know any. She would enjoy that kind of thing.

There is a guy in Gove County who wears a pink hat that she might be comfortable with!!!! Sorry Joe!!!! LOL I think you know him!!

Mine is almost as crazy about it as I am. And I think she's gettin worse as time goes by! Got her into guns first (now I have a reason to buy more), then deer hunting, then took her pheasant hunting. She's into all aspects of hunting now. Got her own small arsenal, bow, and our dog. I work out of town alot, so she goes and will continue to go on every hunting trip that I can make. I have more fun watching her success than my own.

My wife and I share crappie fishing each spring as well.

She doesn't like to "walk 10 miles in the f'n cold just to shoot a damn bird." BUT I enjoy having some "guy" time w/ my son and cousin.....just wouldn't be the same if mom was there:cool: Let's just say some of mom's rules don't make it out to the truck w/ the gear:rolleyes:

iowa lady hunter

Fishing Wife

My wife will fish all summer but when it turns cold she is house bound...She actually caught a 10 bass a few weeks back. I wish she would hunt then she would understand " Why I am always leavin her" during the winter. She loves the dogs , outdoors but not the cold! She did give me 3 stepsons to push roosters for me down the road when I am too old to walk anymore!
