Just wondering who is taking a kid spring turkey hunting?

I got my 15 and my 13 yr old going sunday. I will back them up with the bow.:D

Maybe a little fishin too:cheers:

As soon as I get a break from passing-on soccer and baseball, I'll be getting the boys out (8&10). Skipping soccer next w/e so me and the 8yo can go to SE KS to hunt with a fellow UPH'r.

Very Cool, I too have 2 of 3 boys playing Baseball. A lot of hotdogs in my near future.

Good Luck to all who are going:)

My 11 year old daughter and I will try for a Turkey again this Spring if she can quit feeding and petting the Horses long enough to sit for a while. She also put in for a Bear and an Elk this year.

Way the weather is acting down here, next week should be ideal for the turks.Heading out this am to try again for my youngest to stick one with his recurve. Last weds.had a big old tom at 32 paces, just to far to try.If you haven't shot a recurve, they are the trues form of bow hunting,no cams,no sights no arrow rests, just string and wood.My son is pretty good at 20 yds,but if we get the chance today,I think he might take a longer shot, last day for him to try, before gun season starts. If the temps stay like they are forecast, morels should be popping by tuesday, wednesday ,might be able to find some today, but not many.
good luck to all

Took my two boys yesterday morning. Wiiiiinndy boys got bored and cold so we left our spot to go get breakfast drove to the other side of the section we were hunting and about hit one crossing the road with a big group all headed right towards where we were set up. Oh well. Luckily there seems to be no real shortage of Turkeys they will be there another day.

My daughter is definitely excited to go again this year. Won't be long before she is pulling the trigger herself!:D

Turkeys one hunters zero

Well, the youngest and I went out yesterday morning to the farm to see about getting him a gobbler. We heard birds on the roost but no luck on getting any action so we went crappie fishing. We caught about 15 or so in and hour and then went scouting. Saw a few strutting in a 20 plus bird flock. I think it needs another weeks or so before they will really get going.

Crap weather for the adult opener so I will wait till the weekend to go back at'em!

I got a 5 year old girl on the fence about going or not. She loves to wear her cammo outfit I got her for Christmas but she's still not sure about going. She keeps saying if we go we are not going to shoot any turkeys just look at them or maybe shoot over them.
