Who's goin Turkey huntin?

Wish I was goin - I sure miss spring turkey huntin - especially all those big eastern birds we had on the farm once-upon-another-life in PA! :(

Didn't get a tag yet. If there are any left for zone three I will be going if not oh well. Been on a fly fishing kick this spring. Going after some steelies tomorrow.

zone 2 is from kenosha county up thru door county and east to west, it covers from lake Michigan thru all of Fond du Lac county.. I mostly hunt in Sheboygan county, in the Northern Kettle Moraine area..I have been lucky to know a number of farmers in this area that let me hunt on their land..Good luck turkey hunting this spring... Lab man

Not to far away from me there labman. I'm in the northern kettle daily. Was running the dog in Nichol's creek today. Good luck on them gobblers.

jasper, I was raised on a small farm just out of Cascade.. so I know that area well. In fact I hunt in that area all the time. This past winter we got 4 or 5 coyotes in that general area. The farms I hunt turkeys on border the Kettle Marine area. At one time I fished Nichols Creeks all the time.. lab man

Dad always gets first season cause of land owner preference and I usually get it. Think I'm going to start going for the second season though to spread us out a bit. Always hunt first, season than usually the later season with not much in between cept if somebody asked me to call. I enjoy hunting in snow or cold. It keeps the numbers of hunters down and the snow has zero effect on the turkeys I'm convinced of that. Youth hunt is in a week and I got a kid to call for. :)

Good luck. I was out at the cabin this weekend and we saw a couple nice Toms with some hens when we drove in. Not much activity yet or gobbling in the morning. neighbor says there are some nice toms around though.

Im going out this saturday for Youth day in New Jersey. Hopefully i get my first one. Have had them in front of me but havent gotten a shot off.
