What will you be doing the last day of the season? I like to be afield that day. It helps me deal with feeling sorry for myself during the long off-season. I would love to take a shot at some quail that day. Have not seen a single one so far.

I have to drop a coworker from Germany off at the Airport on Friday. Then I am taking the rest of the day off, hunting.

Not sure, depends on work and the weather. Goose hunting would be the other option, whichever I feel will give me and the dog the most success.

I plan on doing some goosing here at home myself...its funny how I used to waterfowl for a living and now I really try to avoid it like the plague...lol :p

I'm like you. I lived and breathed waterfowling up until last year. Just too many people doing it these days. I still go, but 80 percent of my hunting now is for quail. Which really doesn't make sense, but at least I can go afield and see very few out hunting quail. I like solitude when I hunt not competing for the best spot at zero dark thirty.

I'm devising a plan....I hope to be back in Kansas next week for the final hunt of the year...two days is probably all I can do...but if I stay home I will GO CRAZY:p

I'll be at the dentist getting a crown!!!:(

After that I'll probably run the dogs. They've been loving these late season runs we've been going on. I would hate to waste their last chance of the season at a quail.

I'm going to find my way back to the place where I started the regular season, though I've since learned that I could probably shoot more birds if I drove further west. The difference in drive-time means a lot on a one-day trip.

There is a pretty decent chance for snow in the northern part of the state Friday. 30 degrees with a bit of snow would be a great way to end the season:thumbsup: As much as I'd like to try to find some quail, I think the WIHA quail that have made it this long will get a break from me and my crew. 2 more roosters to make "chiggin' nuggis" out of will satisfy my baby girl's appetite, appease the dogs for a day, and provide a few memories to get me through the off-season......it'd sure be nice to see a BUNCH of hens on this trip;)

I'll be afield along with a couple of good buddies. I'm afraid we all have a case of pheasant flu coming on. The plan is to spend the morning in the area we went Opening Weekend. After lunch we'll head a little East to some private ground we hunted a couple weekends ago and found two nice sized coveys of quail. My last 3 trips haven't been too bad, hoping the same on Friday. Either way it sure beats work and will be a much enjoyed day chasing birds. The weather forecast sure has me excited!

I'll be packing my gun box for the next show in TX, but maybe getting to do a bit of Hog hunting while there.

Kick'em Up!

One last day of hunting for me. I cleared my schedule as did my father and my good friend. I'm hoping we can find a few birds tomorrow before putting the guns away as I'll take up the rods, softball bats and golf clubs.

Wow, looks like there will be quite a few of us out:thumbsup:

The oldest boy ain't makin' it to school tomorrow....I wouldn't want to leave his safety in the hands of his bus driver on a snowy day;) The plan is to drive N and W until we see SNOW:cheers:

Will be heading out with a couple buddies, need to stop and say hi to a few farmers also. Good luck to everyone.

I'm really excited about the prospect of snow! Wouldn't that be the perfect way to end the season?! I hope to get some good pics and enjoy my last day out. GO SNOW!!!

Good luck to all of you, I sure hope we aren't all about to swarm on the same spot...
