last hunt

just finished my last two days trying to shoot a turkey with my bow, the turkey won. saw some but not close enough for me to hit them. got about 4" of snow at home, thinking maybe a goose hunt on the river late this afternoon, dunno

Well, I got to hunt for about 15 minutes today before Murphy's law went apeshit on me. :( Junie, actually... I would say she sustained the most unlikely injury possible, requiring a race to the truck and ultimately the vet.

Can't post pics from my phone, but I'll post up my story and pics on Sunday night. It's a whopper of a story, let me tell you. :laugh:

Junie is fine now, but our season is done. Vet asked me if I was going back out... Mmmm, no, we better stay indoors...
 
Sorry to hear. Yesterday morning thought one my dogs was in trouble..he jumped barbwire fence and his leg got caught at the top. He wasscreaming like a stuck pig..i tookoff running expecting blood and a tear and who knows what else but he got free and was fine thank goodness
 
I was able to spend the final day of the season hunting some old farmsteads. We saw a good number of pheasant and a surprise covey of quail. The strangest might have been flushing a dozen hens all at the same time out of some uncut soybeans. They were less than 50 yards from an inhabited house. We were all a bit surprised by them.
