Just home from a week in MT. All spent in the back country, remote camps and camp meat. :)
All the while I came across two hunting outfits,
A guy and lady met on a two track and a couple guys tent camped from Utah.
There are still a lot of places where You can find solitude if You chose.

I did cover a lot of Ground, checked out a LOT of areas. From SE MT to NE and Central up in the high country, Little Belt Mountains.Got a good idea on upland populations.
Climbed with the pups to one of the highest peaks . A hike I've done many times, the views from the peak are amazing and always worth the climb.

I just put 117 pics on the puter.
I need to rest up,long trip late into the night.
Photo Bucket tomorrow then onto UPH.
Turned out to be a lot of nice pics, coming soon.

Anybody else having problems with photo bucket?

I think this Windows 8 is for puter nerds.

See if this works?

My 15 month old Woodster. First day out. I thought? bunny? gopher? snake!

NOPE! never scented one before, Woodsters first Sharpie.

WHAT A FUN PUP!!!

Didn't want to miss Woodsters first Sharptail.
Dropped it with a load of 6 lead. :)
Pup couldn't get enough of the downed bird.

This is how little Britts cool off when it's 80+

The Team looking over some mnmt type country.

The results of a hard mornings hunt.
Upland bird numbers down in MT?
Gumbo! couldn't get to my best spots for Huns and Sharptails.
But Yeah, the spots I did check out, including pheasants down 50%

The Team at 9'000 feet.

One of my favorite spots, a climb. Breath taking view.

On a clear day You can see 8 Mountain Ranges from this Spot.

Highwoods, Moccasins, Rocky Boys, Little Rockies, Judiths, Little Snowies, Big Snowies, and the Little Belts.
Also the famous Square Butte and Round Butts that are in so many of C M Russels paintings.

beautiful pics wayne im sure the trip was great even thow the low birds numbers are a bummer!!!

happy to see you get your young dog on wild birds mine just thinks hunting is miles of long walks with very few to no shots fired lol hope to get her on some game her on duck opener & then heading back up thursday A.M. to chase prairie grouse cranes & waterfowl maybe even some forest grouse over in your neck of the woods wayne???

Very :coolpics:. How did the pup do? She's a looker for sure.

One other question about the first pic. How are you so close to a water hole and those dogs aren't covered in mud?

Boy this year has flown by:eek:

I can't believe hunting pics (from this season!) are already being posted.

Wayne, sounds like a nice time my friend;). Sorry to hear bird numbers are down though. Regardless, you always seem to get a lot out of you hunting experiences/trips.

Nick

I got some clean water from the windmill. That pool in the pic was filthy dirty, I gave the pups an order to stay. Pups ride in the cab with all that mud!

The other pick with my Britt cooling down was clean flowing, my dogs have used it for years, drinks and swim.
In a couple weeks there will be some mixed bag pics from that stream area, Greenheads and roosters.:)

Nick time does fly by, good time of the year we have on us.
Hope all the work you guys do in IL will pay off this Fall.

As You know, my trips are of a lot more then the shoot.

Nice photos. Wish I could have joined you for a couple days. Maybe next year.

George that would be cool. You and Your Britts would love the big grasslands.

I was in Lewistown on the 11 and 12 passed through and fueled up.
I saw a welcome "dog Trial" sign.
Must not have missed You by much.

The mountain we climbed would have been the highest in view to the SW.
