Here are some videos from my buddy Josh and my trip to Montana last week.
It was a great trip. We got Pheasants, Huns, Sharptail and Sage Grouse shot over point.

Here is a covey of huns.

Sage grouse. My two dogs are backing, and Josh's scout is pointing the bird

This is my pup Indy on a Sharptail. He had been awesome the whole trip, but a little before this video was shot, we got into a bunch of birds. Indy kind of went off the deep end and blew a bunch of them out. But he regained his composure.

And here is a rooster that wasn't pointed but the only one I got on camera.

It was a great trip. The dogs got a lot of good birds work and exposure, and everyone got through the trip without any real injures.

I had been looking forward to seeing this post. Looks like some awesome land to hunt. The fisheyeness of the lens on the videos looks kind strange, especially on the first video. But it is awesome to get to see those shots.

So... What was the stats for the trip? I am betting you know exactly how many miles Ace and Indy ran.

Looks like you guys had a great time. I'm not going to lie, I'm very jealouse of those huns. They are definetly high on my birds to hunt list.

Next time invite me, my dog would have no problem retrieving any and all birds.:D

That's really cool, Steve! Thanks for sharing the pics and videos. Looks like it was a fun trip!

Looks like a nice trip! Definately on my list of things to do!

What is that SxS in the 3rd pic down?

Very nice Setter. Thanks for posting. Looks like you had a great trip!;)

Steve, looks like youe had a great time. I enjoyed the videos, especially the pheasants in the cattails. My second favorite was watching the human retriever:D

Great rip with great pics and vids. Thanks for posting.

The first day or so I had the camera set with a really wide field of view. That gives it the fisheye look. I changed to a narrower view, and I think it was much better.

The dogs all did really well. I was really happy with Indy's bird work and range.

It was a great time. Huns are awesome, as are the sharptail. The Sage grouse are huge, and the pheasants were a bonus.

Steve,

Great job on the videos! Looks like the dogs did you guys proud. And you did them proud as well. Loved the looks of the land. It must be a special place.

Scout is a great dog............... for a Pointer ;)

I tell you what steve ace is a awesome backer, were the dogs racing to the front seems ace is past that what little video i saw ?But who would really care in that huge country, im guessing that it was all public hunting? I would like to do that out there if it was public how did you know what and where to hunt?

It was all on BLM/BMA/ State grounds.

Indy my Pup and Josh's Scout had more natural range than Ace. Ace will get out there some but doesn't consitantly stay there. But both Ace and Scout are very solid on birds and backing. But Ace handles pheasants better than many pointing dogs and his moderate range is a help on pheasants.

But I will say that I have never seen a better place to take a young dog if you want to get them to streatch out.

I tried to get a picture of the Garmin while Indy was still on point, but the Sharptail flew out of there. But Indy was really getting out there at the end of the trip.
