Transplanted Yankee

Just a note to say how much I enjoy the information on the site. I'm a transplanted Yankee living in the south (NC). Grew up hunting wild birds in Pa with shorthairs. Now guide in NC on a preserve with my present GSP. My dad and I will be bringing our three dogs to SD in October for ten days of fun. Looks like it will become a tradition,

Dcollum welcome to the site:) I'll tell you, I can relate a bit on the transported Yankee thing. I was stuck way north of you in Boston for a while. Beautiful area, but it's not easy being out and away from pheasant country. What a feeling it was to get out the SD later that year! You'll appreciate it all the more once your in SD!

Welcome to UPH, I hope we see you around here often. Hope you enjoy the site.......Bob

I live in Waxhaw, NC and have a trained Lab, I'm looking to go to SD for the first time do not know any other bird hunters down here. I'm retired NYPD and love all types of hunting especially Bow hunting. I bought and trained (professionally) a Silver lab from a notable Texas breeder and he's just awesome. I would love to hunt him in SD but have no connections there. I'm looking for an economical hunt, with maybe some waterfowl in between if possible. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated. My email address is in my profile. Thanks
