think he'll be ok?

Driving to Colorado next Friday. Usually the dog rides in the back seat next to the kids but we're going to need more room for this trip.
If I put straw or blankets in a plastic crate do you think he'll be warm enough riding in it in the back of the truck? Maybe block the side vent holes?
he's a Vizsla and I'm coming from Texas to Buena vista. Thanks!

On long trips to sd i bungee a coupl blankets over the kennel then throw some hay in and he will be fine

Buy a Kennel jacket and if your dogs not a chewer put the sending unit for an indoor/outdoor wireless thermometer in the crate. Be careful as you can overheat a dog pretty easily with a kennel jacket. Wind is the enemy, it dehydrates your dog and cooks or freezes them.

We have been at or below zero the last few days here in MN. With kennel jackets my boys come out of the crate warm and ready to train. With out the jackets I would have been worried about injuries.
