Unlike last year, when moisture was pretty nonexistent, there’s been a lot of rain the past month and more coming the next week or so…so, there will be insects for the chicks…

Just talking to my hunting partner today saying fingers crossed for no damaging storms. Plenty of bugs and the pot holes have some water in them. Cover is green and thick. So far so good.

I've been very pleased with the height and thickness of the grass. There will be plenty of bugs and places to hide. It's always a great fall, but this one might just offer a few more birds.

Spoke with a customer of mine as he was picking up fireworks yesterday. Anyway, he's retired and works for an ag company and delivers a lot of chemical and seed in the Redfield area. Anyway, he said he has seen a really good number of chicks, for what its worth.

Chicks will be well fed alright, I just got done baling for the night. The lights of the tractor attracted many insects, so they are out there alright. Completely different than last year.
