Taco Johns

Do they have a Taco Johns in the Hill City or Wakeeney areas?:D

This is meant somewhat in humor, but truth is, part of my morning ritual involves a bacon scrambler burrito...so...

Seriously, I am stuck on whether I should do a DIY hunt in Kansas or SD. Distances from IA are nearly the same, so I am looking for some other criteria (other than flipping a coin) to make the decision.

Anyone else a Taco John's fan? LOL

Regards

I love mexican-american cuisine, eat it out two to three times a week. Absolutely worst case of the squirts I ever got was Taco John's circa 1980, in Alliance, Nebraska. Never been back!

There's better places to eat than TJ's, in IA, SD, and Kansas. The nice part of traveling is to try new places to eat.

exactly... when i went to sioux falls last weekend, i went to Hu Hot which i havent eaten in years, is something Pierre doesnt have. always eat somewhere that your town doesnt have.

If this is the case choose Kansas, they have softer toilet paper!!!! LOL:eek::eek:

Taco John's in Hutchinson gave me the runs. It's closed now. Turned into drive thru liquor store.

You can get one of those any morning in Dodge from one of the numerous burrito trailers running around town.

I have a morning ritual that comes natural without the use of a bacon scrambler burrito.;)

Guys,

I'm actually 1/2 Hispanic, so I do know and appreciate great Mexican/Tex Mex/NuMex food-no where did I make the connection between Taco John's and fine Mexican food-I know some hole-in-the-wall greasy spoons across the midwest run by some of my Mexican compadres that are out this world. These are places that are the real deal...

Absolutely agree that traveling gives on the opportunity to kick back and enjoy local specialties.

This was really more in humor to share my dilemma (see thread in main forum) about deciding which state to hunt in.

Aside from that, I do enjoy Taco John's scrambler burritos with green chile, fast food critics be damned. :D

Don't tell me you guys are so top shelf that there isn't some nasty fast food thing you like-most of us have these vices. ;)

Regards,

Joe

all the grease makes for a great laxative and its just plain good but then again I also eat oysters from the can and love a good nutfry

I always order the Splatter Platter when I'm at one of those fine mexican establishments being discussed!

If any of you ever make it down to Texas, have a stop-and-go burrito from the good ole establishment of Allsups gas stations. Your travels will be delayed for about an hour and you will need an IV to get all the fluids back you will use. Just speaking from first hand experience.
