just returned from a quick visit...things look good...weather has been quite good since mid-may...not too hot, not too cold, not too wet, not too dry...no hail...yet! knock on wood. Several broods sighted, good #'s per brood. locals seem to feel that there are lots of broods...obviously, where there is habitat...feeling pretty good about the upcoming season!!!!
 
as a whole, I think much of SD is going OK...far SE would be the exception due to the deluge of rain from a few weeks ago, same goes for SW MN. There was some heavy hail in W SD between Pierre and Chamberlain, I believe. Overall, things should be good...if I was giving geographic advice, which I don't do, I would be N of I 90, W of hwy 81, S of hwy 212, and E of the river...big square to explore and play in...good amount of public land in there...

good! got him on some birds the other night...the dog is very birdy! i brought him a little plug with feathers around it the day he brought Sam home...nice little pup!
