I would guess a little of both. They have had a lot of rain in that area this summer so that probably didn't help the hatch. There have also been areas around Aberdeen that have received some severe hail.
I think with the reduced CRP statewide that this years increase is excellent. With the loss of habitat we have had we can't expect numbers like we had a few of year back.
It's not a bitch. State is up 42% and some areas much higher than that. I was simply asking why Aberdeen was so much lower than every other part of the state.
I didn't get a chance to talk to our landowner until earlier in the week. He told me during wheat harvest he had never seen so many birds. The most he had seen in 5 years. He said it was shaping up to be an epic year. Cant wait.
Man I can't wait! I'm two weeks out from getting out of here and that means two weeks closer to blasting birds! Every time I need a pick me up I just think to myself "42%"
