That is a extremely nice offer.
As someone that started out in trialing with some limited success in the beginning I believe there is much more to trialing than meets the eye. Anyone can do well once in awhile but to be in the ribbons consistently is just a whole other thing and takes someone with a plan and real knowledge that is not gained easily. I have been humbled by the whole experience. I still do not know if my dog will make it as a trial dog or if I have what it takes to continue to learn but I agree that the knowledge is there if you are willing to learn it. I soak in what I can from people that are willing to help.
I hope to run in to you soon. And just keep plugging away, it will come. This lab pup the OP is talking about sounds like a dog that would be right up my alley. I just had a guy call tonight from Nebraska about a pup. We had this very conversation about chasing. I explained the reason "I" and many others do it. It is for many reasons. Another one is introducing the pup to gun. Pups chasing are more likely to come out on top when brought in to gun fire I believe as well. It does not seem to affect them. There are many ways to skin a cat. I know some folks who do not let dogs chase at all either. However I do know way more that do. No video yet, maybe this weekend. Rain has been non stop, with wet snow now. There goes the cover again.
