It's an age old topic but is there anything better than...
1) Tomato Juice 2) Skunk Off or 3) Peroxide/Baking Soda/Dish Detergent?
Thanks!!!

Over the years my dogs have gotten into more than their share of skunks. First, tomato juice absolutely does NOT work. It's better used if poured into a nice cold beer! There are a number of products on the market that seem to do a fair job but nothing seems to work as well as the Peroxide/Baking Soda/DishSoap formula. But I have not found any product or formula that will take out 100% of the odor. Only time will do that.

FYI there is a dog wash in the car wash behind cabela's in Mitchell. Used it monday after opener. Seemed to be a baking soda wash. Cut it about 75%. Thank god, we were in an explorer and the drive from pierre to there was awesome. Made trip back to kansas more tolerable. Zeb is right, used peroxide, baking soda mixture when i got home. I can still get a whiff of him a week later.

You guys arent adding water to the solution are you? I mix it straight up and make alot of it and it works awesome for me. I have had him take a blast from a couple of feet, he was so bad that I could smell him upwind and the wind was blowing 20+ mph. After washing him I was able to let him sleep in bed with me that night, the only time I could smell it on him after that was when he got wet and even then it was very faint.

Baking Soda mixture for me too.

I've had my dogs sprayed more times then I care to admit. Once, I had my older dog get sprayed, then the younger dog, then the older dog came and tried to CARRY off the skunk and got sprayed and bit, what a mess.

The baking Soda mixture is ready to go at my house all the time. :(

#3 I've seen slightly different amounts but qt. Peroxcide, 1/4 cup baking soda and a couple tablespoons or less detergent. Dawn regular excellent.

I know boys---4 skunks last 10 days and I used this 3 times. I got some "Professional" skunk scent killer that was $30+ a pop at Runnings on some great recs, but not nearly as good as this. I travel with two qts of perox and can find the otherstuff about anywhere. You cannot pre-mix.
Two of the incidents were in my yard, one the middle of last night when the old dog had to go out. Wife let the damn thing in the bedroom beforeher bulb turned on. This is getting to be a real nightmare.

Good point. Cannot premix, I believe it can be explosive.
