If your out just doing retrieving work with your dog how many retrieves do you guys recommend doing during a session. I usually like to do between 7-10 with a bumper. I just want to make sure I'm not doing to many per session where she becomes bored with it. Thanks for any responses.

For me it is more important that the session remains positive. Dogs are like humans. Some days are good, others not so good. When I feel the dog is not responding to me, or I am not remaining patient, I end the training. Sometimes that is after a dozen tosses, sometimes after two:)

I like your post. Train the dog you have that day. Sometimes i may set up to run TT and will end up just doing obedience work! When I am doing pile work I usually end up having the dog pick up 8-12 bumpers if things are going good. When I am training marks it varies greatly depending on what I am training for and the skill of the dog (and how many bird boys available) I would guess as few as 2 and as many as 8. All that being said my little buddy Dutch usually gets way longer training sessions as he loves any kind of work. Typically my sessions start with pile work or drills and finish off with marks to keep the dogs attitude up. Remember the abc's
A attitude B balance C control
