All fair points Keeper and I could've expressed this a little better. The dog will be moved to a local person where it can be visited and possibly even hunted with us a couple times a year if the new person doesn't hurt. I just thought it would be a good fit for the right person. Sorry if I offended.I don't get this at all. You want to just dump a dog because it's moving out of it's prime hunting age? I'm sorry, but this sickens me. I can't imagine dumping my best hunting companion just because the dog aged out. Has this dog not bonded to your son? A hunting dog isn't a used truck that you just trade in because it's getting up there in miles. It's a responsibility you see to the end. That's what a good dog deserves.
I apologize as well. I probably got a bit too emotional before knowing the situation and even after knowing, it's none of my business. I'm a dog lover and just want what's best for our 4 legged companions, even if they are not my responsibility. Also sorry if I offended. I enjoy this place because of the good quality company that hangs here and I also don't want to spoil that. I do hope the situation works for everyone involved. All fair points Keeper and I could've expressed this a little better. Why not just delete the entire thread ?
You don't get rid of a dog for any reason. Getting rid of a dog will bring a bad karma event right into your lap. It might even involve your demise.Im not one that can only look at a dog as a tool. Theyre family. I can see getting rid of a dog if you cant hunt, have to move, etc. but not because you want a new puppy.
You got that right. A dog is not a tool, a dog is family. If you get rid of a dog not even a trip to the Indian Shrine in northern Saskatchewan can save you.
