Pheasant Fest by Pheasants Forever

Has anyone been to PF's Pheasant Fest before? This year's Fest is this month. I have never been and wonder if I should go and see what's up with it. If you did go, what did you enjoy about it or get out of it? Thanks.

BC, I've been to everyone and get a ton out of each one I have been to. If you are into dogs, gear, habitat and pheasant hunting then there is no better show.

I have been the last two years, it is great!

Talking to all the different breeders and dog clubs are more than worth the price to get in.

I think it would take 2 days just to take in most of the seminars. I was at the last show in St. Paul and you really need 2 days to see everything.

It's usually rotated to different cities in the Midwest each year. This year it is in Des Moines Iowa.

Birdman, they have had it every year now and usually announce new location not too long after this years completes. I suspect it will be some where in 5 state area.

I visited the past places on the website.. not once was it in the state of south dakota.. isnt that the state that pretty much says pheasants?

They are expanding their center. when will it be done is what i dont know.


but they do have the EXPO at the fairground that does rodeo and other shows.

Just heard the state legislature voted down the penny sales tax proposal so that just might put the nail in the new event center.

That'll be a plus. i know main concerts usually are in Rapid City so thats another place it could be.

Its too bad we dont have a big enuf center in like Winner or Pierre for such events bc its the heart of pheasant hunting.

I might make it now, I was going to go to Colorado for a trial, but with out traing now I don't think I will bother, so PF is looking more inviting.

Looks like Pheasant Fest will be traveling to Omaha Nebraska for the 2011.

There is some hope and expectation that Vilsack may announce new CRP signups and acres and maybe a General CRP signup this year at the noon luncheon at Pheasant Fest this weekend. Let's hope he brings music to our ears.
