Is this an off topic thread if this is the reason I've only got out once so far this year?

Our first kid, 7lbs, 7 oz, 21 inches, 3:37am yesterday.
 
CONGRADULATIONS cheesy nothing better than the first child being born just wait until he or she is ready to go hunting and think of all the great times in the outdoors you have yet to come :thumbsup: :cheers:
 
Its a he. And he already has a custom skinning knife on the shelf, my wife didn't approve, but whats that matter. :)
 
ahh cheesy just get used to her not aproving of alot of things in this young mans life especially when it comes to hunting they eventually get over it at least you didn
t buy him his first gundog yet I did that and she is still the best dog in the kennel even though she is now gowing on 12 and slows down a bit

Congratulations on having your first kid! I hope the best for you and yours in the trying process of raising the little guy.....for those that keep "it" together for the duration, it is the most rewarding experience in a man's life IMO. Don't forget we wanna see pics of the camo beany you buy for him this Christmas:) Oh, and since we're mostly guys around here;), here's an extra congratulations for having a BABY BOY:cheers:
 
Congrats Cheesy. Great Pic. I had a few years when the kids were younger where it was tough to find time to get out as much as I would've liked. But, kids are more than worth any sacrifices you may have to make. I am fortunate now that mine are able to join me in the field. Now my wife can't wait to kick us out of the house so that she can have a quiet weekend to herself. Good luck w/ your new baby boy!:10sign:

KB, I was thinking more like a new shotgun for the kid....never to young.

Thanks guys. Lots of purple in the closet (as well as Maroon, wife is an Aggie from aTm :( ), lots of camo, I got veto'd on the shotgun idea, but there is a custom Dave Winston hunting knife on a shelf in his room. She wasn't impressed with a $200 hunting knife showing up in the mail..... :D

Enjoy it man, it sure goes by too fast!!! By the way, what size OU mittens should I send? Maybe just a Lil' Sooner blanket? Let me know!!!

I'm pretty sure most of the Big XII loyal were pulling for the Sooners that night. I sure as hell didn't want Nebraska winning the title, and then sneaking off to another conference! :mad:
 
I have rooted for OU exactly one time in my life, and that was Saturday night while sitting in the delivery room with the tv on. :)
 
Congratulations on your first child. My boy turned 4 last week. He's showing lots of interest in hunting and my bird dogs. Can't wait to take him. You have lots to look forward to. Nothing better than having a child. Send him down to Stillwater when he gets old enough, not Manhattan. GO POKES!
