Opening weekend

Im going to get down there after Christmas, thats the plan anyway. Some of what he hunted was public so it could of been pen raised birds but he did say they heard a rooster in standing corn on a piece of private. Standing corn still

I don't recall Nebraska ever opening this early. Usually it's just a week before Colorado.

So I am about 99% sure it used to be the first weekend in November. Kansas was always second weekend and in the northwest part of Kansas you couldn’t find a last second room that weekend. We stayed in Alma Nebraska more than once that second weekend after the opening crew had left.

Worst nebraska opener since 1980. Very little corn and milo harvested. foggy-mist, grass was soaking wet both saturday and sunday. Saw 2 birds on the road the entire weekend. So much for the 40% increase per the DOW??? I wouldn't waste your time hunting Nebraska.

what part of the state is this?

Hunted opener for years, was always close to my dad’s birthday, Nov. 5th. It opened early this year. Gonna go down and try this weekend, at least try and get some prairie chickens. Rather doubt see many Pheasants, even if it’s up 100% that’s 2 where there was 1 last year.

It's in an early cycle this year, next year it will open on October 31 but that will still be the last Saturday in October.

About 45 years ago South Dakota would open the week before Iowa and Nebraska was the weekend after and Kansas was the next weekend so we would get four opening weekends in a row. I have some good memories of those days!
