Almost was taken out of the game by an truck repair(new pinion gears), but wife agreed me and the boys need it and tradation is important.
We will hunt roosters till I decide it is to hot to run dogs. Then the boy and I will bow hunt deer & shoot blue rock till dark. Then some Beers & Steaks with homemade fries.
Be safe!
Kick:thumbsup:
That's a good upbringing. To be perfect, add the watching or listening to the K-State game saturday by night.

Like the rest of you, we'll hunt till it gets uncomfortably warm. I'm not going to tell anyone else in our group how to run their dog, but mine will run a limited amount on Saturday.
Big dinner saturday night, watch K-State, shorter hunt on Sunday, drive home.
We're going to a new area this year, our traditional host in SW Kansas told us not to bother coming (for the second year in a row). For several other reasons I think that opening day tradition is over, so we're starting a new one.
Good luck and be safe to all afield this weekend. I'll be in Topeka watching my daughter play soccer.

Nick who does your daughter play soccer for?
She plays for the Sporting Blue Valley club in the U15 division. They play at
9:30 Saturday morning in the semifinals of the state cup. If they win, they play for the championship at 9:30 Sunday morning. I made my first opening weekend trip when I was twelve. I'm 45 now and haven't missed more than 3 or 4 during that time. I'll make plenty more but my boys are both in college and she's my youngest, so I have to enjoy these times while I can. I'll get out with my dad and boys a little later. Dad and my 13 year old lab have both slowed down quite a bit, so they probably wouldn't like the warm weather Saturday anyway.
Mine plays for Prodigy "Nationals" here in T town. We play in KC though. U13and 14 next year. I'd much rather watch my daughter play soccer than hunt at this point. Hunting will be there in 5 more years.
Oh, for all of you pheasant fanatics…we’ve driven 420 miles the past few days, through what had been some of the state’s top pheasant counties in 2010…and we’ve yet to see a hen or a rooster.
