NRA Press Conference on CNN right now 11:00AM Friday

It seems there's a common themes are these shootings. These murders are male, they target areas where they know no one else has a gun, and as soon as another gun enters the scene, these murderers are either stopped or they simply shoot themselves. Hence putting an end to the killing of innocent people.

Such shootings also happen in countries with very strict gun control laws are in place. Once gun control laws where put into place in such countries, crime went up significantly. The bad guys will always have the means to do evil regardless of weaponry.

Even a country like China (where I believe citizens can not own firearms) they too have had an increase in mass murders/killings in recent years. Not with guns, but other means/weapons to kill numbers of people.

As the theme of this thread has gone; this is a very complicated issue. Our culture and society/mindset of our fellow human beings is changing. Human life means very little to all too many these days. We seem to lack love for our fellow man and in all to many cases love for ones-self. I fear we are just seeing the tip of the ice burg with such senseless, hateful mass murders. Gun control won't do a dang thing to curve this trend.

The problem with arming anybody...most the time it's been students who did the shootings. Several students could easily over power someone and take a gun from a teacher or even a single guard. Especially a small women teacher. You ever see the size of some of these kids we raise these days?

What would any of these teachers act like under a must shoot/kill situation?

Who would carry the responsibility and liability for shooting someone?

Is a teacher willing to put everything they own on the line from a civil law suit from the victims family?

What if the shooing becomes unwarranted?
Same arguements always get used against ccw in general. The thing is when "normal" folks start to carry it doesn't turn into mayhem or the wild west.

Merry Christmas.

Yes, some great points

It is becuase the liberals follow the talking points of the left! The biggest hypocrisy I find is how they are fine with the call to police/1st responders with compulsary firearms after a tragedy but cannot fathom an armed proactive stance!

Your biased style of thinking makes your argument weak.

There's a saying

Just because I want sensible gun laws, doesn't make me anti gun

Just like sensible traffic laws doesn't make me anti car.

It might be a news flash to some of you party loyalists. There are millions of gun owning democrats. Alienating them by disrespecting them only serves to limit your ability to gain support for the protection of your own wants and needs. In Lehman's terms. Don't kick the blued steel and walnut guys in the pill's when you need them to keep your black plastic.

Is it possible that if the NRA wasnt so far to the right that we wouldnt have the rules/laws or lack thereof? if they were more in the middle you may have more laws today to complain about today?
Just food for thought..

Count me as one who prefers walnut and blued steel, however I have nothing against law abiding citizens target shooting, collecting, hunting or keeping for personal protection the black plastic so called "assault weapons" or handguns with large capacity magazines! We head down a slippery slope when we help the anti gun crowd decide which guns can be legally owned! I hope we never see another mass shooting again, but if a criminal ever does commit such a terrible act with a walnut stock o/u shotgun and a couple of smith&wesson 6 shooters sporting walnut grips the antis will be back for those! That slippery slope! I think we all are in agreement of hope these acts of terror stop!

I worry about introducing more guns into a volatile society, which is most high schools. In our district we have "resource officers" which are armed, and in the building. We have "security" officers who patrol district buildings. We have all doors locked electronically which have to be accessd by a swipe card. Unfortunately, we had an incidence at a private grade school here where an deranged father shoot his wife and child in the school parking lot. The funding was a policy by BILL CLINTON, a DEMOCRAT! The funding was suspended by guess who? Our district continued to fund it, they have funding and support of the taxpayers. how bout the districts who don't have that luxury, had older building that need to retrofitted. I was less than inspired by Wayne La Pierre at, but I realized we do these things now. Use a sally port, with an armed security guard, where you sign it, through bullet proof glass, weird people with no clear cut idea, would not get through, or guy's with a bushmaster, festooned with jungle clips. How bout a compromise, let the NRA take there millions they spend on lobbying, and retrofit the schools to make them secure, as well as police training to man the post. Then the NRA is the solution to the problem. Here is a chilling evidence, that these assualts take seconds, it takes 8 minutes to a response from a normal patrol vehicle. We are destined to be to late! The best option, it's to fortifiy the building, controlled access through a sally port. Keep the intruder on the outside, and deal with him there! Now we need to keep the playground secure. Ugh! At the shopping malls or the movie, your on your own

First of all lets pray for all of those involved with this tragady in Conneticut and elswhere. now don't take me as some holier than though Bible beating person. Am I a Christian? Yes. Was i raised in a Christion home? Yes. Would I ever consider mass murdering innocent children. NO I am strictly against any gun control of any kind. "Give them an inch they will take a mile." I think todays problem rests with the fact that we have lost our moral base. Some people just could give a crap less about other human beings, some are so stuck on ME, ME, what about ME? I feel, and it's my opinion, that our once great country has gotten away from the Christian home, including myself at times. We need to regroup, respect each other and be responsible for our actions. We can't loose this great country that our veterans have worked so hard to save for us and our children. God bless all this Christmas season and lets point some roosters next fall.

The give them an inch they will take a mile is exactly what has put our country in the position we are in. IMO. Why is compromise such a dirty word? There is a combination of problems at work here. Unfortunately nothing will ever change as long as far left nut bags call for the elimination of all guns, while fighting with nut bags like La Pierre who feel the answer is that there just are not enough guns out there.

He is RIGHT NOT ENOUGH GUNS IN THE RIGHT PEOPLES HANDS. I grow so tierd of lisening to leftist babal. It's not the gun iTS THE IDOIT behind the TRIGGER. This is why we have the problems, we have in this country. PEOPLE don't critically THINK about what they SEE on TV. NO compromise is needed. Less laws and more consequences for actions.

ARE YOU RESONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS........ JUST sawing.
