Now What???

Dang, Tom, I need to transfer to Michigan!!! We couldn't come up with that much equipment and personnel by putting 3 regions of the 5 together:) My biggest worry is that this will burn for a month and I have to prepare it for every wind direction. As for the vo-ag class, at that age, I'd get more work done getting the home-ec class! I had the carpentry class build my new office on '07. Talk about grab a## and wasted nails! Most of the rough work looked ok, but sheet rock should never be done by 17-18 year olds:) There are screws popping mud everywhere! I did the trim and painting myself. No use asking for a disaster!

Yeah if you don't have the equipment or man power I totally understands and your concern, those windrow cedars would be a nightmare for the equipment that is shown in your videos.......one option might be to contact the U.S. forest service to see if they would be willing to help, not sure if they would but I know when I was doing my master at Clemson they had western crews working in sc doing Rx burns. Again sure you have looked at that option too.

one of these days I too am gonna do a pigeon coop....I'm waiting for the weather to get little nicer before I start training for the year...but I've been doing a lot of traveling to do work with my band....going to Europe in April to play gigs so that will be keeping me busy.

Been catching a few decent crappie out at the Tuttle Creek spillway. The bite if off and on, but it's fun!

Pheasant season ended on the Kansas forum like a bad date. We all just said, "see ya!" and never called back...

I've got some firewood to cut, and hack down some cedars at the farm, but it's just tough to get too excited about anything in February... I've got a ton of stuff to do this Spring, but I wish I could just hibernate until March.

Normally I would be hooked on college basketball, but my Cats have gone straight down the toilet this season and it is almost too depressing to watch. Most years I'll watch as many B12 games as I can, but seeing as how KSU will be lucky to make the NIT this year, I have kind of lost interest in the rest of the conference.

Anybody got any good ideas to pass time in late Winter???

Become a Jayhawk basketball fan and you won't have to get depressed watching college basketball. :)

I'll be headed out next Saturday weather permitting to scout some pubic land I pass by all the time and have yet to see anyone hunt it except for deer. See if Obie and Milo can find any birds on it.

Anyone that is bored can swing by the W/A to help prepare fire breaks and burn!!! Plenty to keep you focused with a 20 foot wall of fire in the neighborhood. If that's too hot for you, there is plenty of fence to mend. The wetlands need drained and I'm sure you could fill a month just pulling illegal tree stands! There are roads to grade, the weekly toilet/trash run at the lake, metal to cut out of the new rip rap on the dam, beavers to trap in the ponds, and equipment to repair and maintain. If you like flying solo, you could just drive and walk the fence lines and timber stands cutting feral cedars. I'm always willing to help when folks are blue and don't know what to do! :)

I guess I'll bring my chainsaw when I come by for my nickel tour.

Looks like we're getting some nice snow to plow right now, so that should cure my boredom for the rest of the night.

not during the regular season for sure, but after the first weekend of the tournament...

No kidding. Last ten years only one national championship, one national championship runner up, two regional finals, two regional semi-finals and four outs during the first weekend. Bill Self should be fired for that record.

I've watched more KU basketball than most KU "fans". They've always gotten the TV time, so I have watched them since I was a tot. I won't ever be a fan of KU, but I have a lot of respect for the accomplishments of Larry Brown, Roy Williams and Bill Self. All 3 will be hall of famers.

For better or worse, my heart will always be with with KSU.

That's the way it should be, always have to go with your heart. I feel the same way about Bill Snyder, have a ton of respect for what he did, but being a KU grad myself, won't ever jump on the "bandwagon" to be a Wildcat fan.

Amen, Setternut! They needed a nice win in the worst way. I'm really happy for the seniors to have a positive memory about this season, which otherwise has been a disappointment for them, I'm sure. They got to have one more memory of the fans storming the court and got another elusive W against the hawks.

Hopefully they ride this energy all the way into senior night and get some revenge on the cyclones also, but you never know this season... It sure would be nice to finish the season with another win against a ranked opponent. And then who knows what might happen in the B12 tourney...

I will say that a bunch of our fan were out of line, and showed no class.
The chant F .... KU is classless.

Agreed. I was at the game last year and it took a few minutes before I deciphered the chant. It was a little disappointing. It was also a little surprising that this year's telecast lingered on it long enough that many viewers probably figured it out.

It reminded me of football games in Camp Randall stadium (University of Wisconsin). One portion of the student section would yell "eat s***" and the other would respond "f*** you". They seemed to do it just for fun, without any regard to what was happening on the field.

Well, that was a nice win for ........THE CATS :p :D

Just back in country after a week of travel. Read the game accounts. Congrats, won your Super Bowl & wrapped up the Big 12 Sportsmanship trophy all in one night!

Glad to see the condemnation of the behavior and the chants. College kids will be college kids but the chant on national TV would be embarrassing to any university. The incidents that occurred when storming the court could have turned very ugly.
