New Hunting Partner

Okay guys, here's the latest. Today I sent off a deposit on a 6 month old female Brittany in Idaho. Plan to go see the dog around the 6th of January and hopefully bring her back with me. I really feel this is the one. Check out the photos and pedigree.

Beautiful dog.

After loosing our Rusty, a Golden to cancer last April, we are about to welcome a new Golden into our home the second week in January. An 8 week old pup. By the way, I'm 70 years old.

When we lost Rusty, I said no more. It's too hard loosing your best friend and companion. But I find I can't do without a hunting buddy and companion.

Buddy, I hear ya! It's only been 4 weeks since I had to put Elle down due to a spinal tumor and I've been in mourning ever since. Still tear up talking about her. But I need a new companion. They keep us going and at our age we dare not slow down. :)

Congrats, looking forward to hunting with her this fall and shooting your 16 ga...:10sign:

thanks for your reply. I ask because I live in the up of mich and I bought a 6 yr old French britt as was told smaller and slower and for ruff grouse the king of game birds I thought was a good call. Also I have a 4yr old lewellyn setter who is finally coming into her own. But the britt he,s a joy

Update on Bree

Bree is coming along nicely. Has learned her name and some basic commands. Walks well on leash at heel. Got to start some Whoa training soon. This week I also started roading her with my bike and she is doing surprising well running along side me. So far we are up to 2 miles at a time with no crash and burns. There is a guy that has some acreage close by that raises Bobwhites. I hope to get out to his place in the next month and work her on some birds. Anxious to get back to SD this spring and get her on pheasants. And already looking forward to next fall.

Progress

THANKS for the update, George. Laying down a good foundation in the yard, will pay back big dividends later in the field.

How about a recent pic??
