New a5 20 guage

Lol good one. certain guns are low brow, but Browning is kind of a legend. Those Browning guns that are made in Japan I would probably consider lowbrow.
Actually the Japanese Brownings are functionally better than any made prior. The Japanese Model 12s are things of beauty.

I enjoy my 1940s auto five and it’s clones but if I had to carry one exclusively, it would be a Japanese auto five.

Goose Goose Goose, You poor guy.. Everyone but you knows that the Jap Browning's are some of the best in the world.

Yep, and if you can find a Charles Daly/Miroku That the seller doesn't know what he's got, you can get a hell of a deal. My brother's favorite 20 Looks, feels shoots exactly like a Citori!!
Bought one for $850 last year. I believe its the venture model. I thought it was a citori when I saw it on the shelf. Nice 12 ga. he had a 20 and sold it just a day or two before I was there.

My father was a Smith and Wesson dealer for many years. He sold a ton of their long guns, rifles and shotguns, made in Japan. The rifles were extremely well made. The shotguns were not as well received, they were heavy and the early ones had some issue I don’t remember right now.

The Super 1000 replaced the 1000 and was a good shotgun. It was our goose gun for years. Very light recoil with heavy loads. Probably hard to find parts for now. Good looking gas operated semi autos.

The problem was that the washer on the gas port was made from some kind of material that didn't react good to solvent. After repeated use of the solvent the washer would turn into a sticky gooey mess. They came up with a different material, but it was too late, damaged reputation done. They were a three shot, which didn't help either in the time of the 1100 and other well-known 5 shot autos. I bought my daughter a 20 back in the 80's. It's a very good shooting gun that has never failed. My son in law tore it down, gave it a thorough cleaning and replace the washer not long ago. They were fine guns with a bad rap..
