Merle (my 5 month old GWP) had a blast on her first hunt and so did her mom and dad! Managed to bag quite a few birds and missed even more! Hardly any hunters out which was surprising. Knocked on a lot of doors and got permission 90% of the time (the only time we didn't was when it was being reserved for other hunters) which was really great. The weather was a bit hot for my liking but more than anything I was absolutely thrilled with Merle's drive to hunt. She pointed her first rooster and I managed to knock it down only to be rewarded with a retrieve! I couldn't be happier with my new pup. :)

Where did you hunt in Neb? I have family there but have not hunted there as of yet. Must be nice to have the whole family out hunting. Great looking dog by the way I have a GWP as well she is 9 months and this was her first year out as well. Good luck the rest of the season dont know where your at maybe we will run into each other sometime, not many GWP around- Josh:thumbsup:
 
Great picture. I wish I could get my wife to tag along with me and our labs, even if she didn't want to shoot, but no luck so far. Isn't it great watching the dogs learn? And the A5 in the picture brings back a lot of memories of miles walked and shots fired--hits and misses. I sold my 12G A5 after I got a Browning Maxus but still have a 20G.
