M.a.d.s.

Bolton is around Paxico right? That would work for me. That is only a little over an hour from my house. At least that way I don't have to go through Manhattan.

Yep, that's the one. I was just out there last night and there are quite a few birds flying around. It gets pounded as bad as any place I've ever seen, but our objective is more to socialize than to shoot a limit so it should work.

Let's do Bolton. It's between you and me, and it is closer than Tuttle for the guys coming from the East. What's a good start time when you say evening?

I just learned that my older boy has soccer in Salina on the afternoon of the 9th. Depending on what time we plan to meet, I may be a little late:eek: If the morning would work for you guys, that would work best for me. If afternoon is the only time slot that will work I'll get there as quickly as possible.

I realized the afternoon of the 9th is our church picnic. A.m. may be better for me too, although i could probably get out of the picnic.

Gentlemen, gentlemen. One word: Priorities! Church picnics? Family events? Children's soccer games? Tut, tut. What could have higher priority than a hunt? Oops, forgot. I'm a bachelor. Sorry . . .

Your right I'm sorry. I guess my wife would get over it like she has gotten over the others. She was fondly telling my daughter how I took an impromtu hunting trip to SD some 16 years ago when she was 7 months pregnant with my second son. Week before Christmas and I took off with a buddy to hunt for four days. She said it was ok, but I never should have fell for it. Anyway she was really happy when I came back with a broken foot and couldn't work for three weeks. She still hasn't forgotten.

Sounds like a tough place to dig oneself out of. ;)

As I look at the posts, I am not sure what the final - final decision is as to date, time, and place for this gathering. I want to be there to  everyone.

That sounds good Toad. Britt Chaser, if you decide to go and want some company let me know. I am about 20 minutes east of Lawrence, I have a son that goes to KU.

I can't be counted on because I am spending most of next week fishing & grouse hunting in CO and may be arriving at the dove spot from the west instead of from Lawrence.

Wow sounds like a tough life. I guess somebody has to do it.:D

I'll be there at 3:30 with deer sausage. Good luck finding that at any church picnic!:D

I totally understand that people have other obligations though, and I take no offense if nobody shows up. But I hope at least a few people do...:D

I'll see ya there, though I can only commit to arriving somewhere between 3:30 and 5:30. I'll be in a white F-150 with a grill guard.

Haven't been on in a while because I've been swamped at work but if you need one more I might be able to stop by on Sunday evening and bust some caps on my way home from work that day. That is if you need one more and I can find my bucket.

It's not that we'll need an extra person; that is, I'm sure we can handle the work "load", but I for one would like to meet you if you can make it. I have extra buckets but you'll have to wait for me to get back from Salina:D

Nah, we need you for sure! Be there or be square!

September 9, 3:30 BWA

Bump.

Headed out Friday to see what's still flying.

Can I get an updated head count for Sunday?

toad i will be there. I looked at the map, are we going to meet at the big field or the small one? Where is it from paxico?

There is a road that takes you N out of Paxico (main drag by the school). Go about 3 or so miles and you'll see the brown wildlife area sign, take a left. Drive till you see it on your left (S side of road). There is a ladder in the middle of it to get you over the fence. That's also where you fill out your daily card. Once you're over the fence you're right in between the 2 fields.

The E end and W end should provide about the same amount of action. Often I set up in the trees between the 2 fields b/c I don't have decoys and they'll slow down "for" me when they're planning to land in the trees:D I will also likely drive out there Friday evening to see what's moving. Toad, if you see a white F-150 w/ a topper and hood-scoop, plus a GSP or GWP and a couple young boys in tow, that is me!

I will park near the stairs with an '02 blue F-150 with a KSU plate on the front. I will probably be dogless since my pointy dogs are not big on sitting still. So I'm depending on you guys for dog power, Carptom and KB!

KB, we'll probably be there for a few hours in the afternoon on Friday. But we may move on to some WIHA ponds so as not to "burn" the field for Sunday. :D
