Live Pheasant Photos

😀

hettmoe how close are you to these birds? Looks like you could hand feed them!:10sign:

Yeah, I do have a pretty good blind. Believe me, they do not know I am there. Almost all of my photos are taken with either a Nikon D90 or a D7000 and a 300mm lens. Thanks.

They really are something aren't they? I keep telling him to send some into Pheasants Forever. They probably get into their magazine and yearly calendar.

THanks for the kind words, guys. These are from ND. We have lost a lot of birds locally because of our weather during the last month, and it will continue to be a tough Winter for all wildlife nearby. The sun has been behind the clouds for a few days, so the photos have been a little tougher. Snow is flying today.

Thanks, Nick. When I captured these I wondered if you have ever made any mounts with wings in this position? I'm sure you have spread the tail feathers before:)

Once I get my mount back I'll send a pic to 1pheas4 I'm getting a table top flushing mount I'm sure 1pheas4 will show us 1 of his mounts in the mean time ...

Thanks for sharing your pics hettmoe

That's a good question. It's doable, but I'm not sure I've done one like that in the past. When I get back to my commercial mounts I'll try one out and post a photo.

Yeah, post a pic of him. Is this bird a Minnesota rooster?
