I thought it would be neat to see the type of land we all live near. I feel blessed with the quiet country living. Here is the land surounding our home. ( Pics. Taken from the roof:D)

Very nice area FC, great pics

Quit braggin', land tycoons . . . some of us are still suffering in the cities.

FCS â?? and lakes, too? Fins and feathers! (How about a little cast-n-blast for the poor folks?)

At least you guys know how to appreciate paradise. That goes a long way.

Come on up, Fall in Douglas Co. has some of the best walleye fishing around, you can catch eyes from shore with rapalas at night and shoot a limit of pheasants during the day, along with a few small muskies. there are times if you hit it right you will catch an eye a cast. PS I do classify as POOR.

You've got quite a view there FSCspringer. I often daydream about it being a 1/4 section of CRP with a couple rows of milo around the edge, but I'll be awhile saving money and building credit before that happens.

For now, you can see a pic of the Flint Hills online anywhere and that's what it looks like when I visit the "back 40". It is a beautiful part of the country as is the one you live in.

FCS,

I guess that walleye would be a fish. I have heard of them. They need water?

Here is my back forty.

Maynard, you must not be a fisherman, there is some very fine walleye fishing your state.......Bob

FCSpringer,

Nice place you have. I've always loved the Alexandria area. Spent a lot of time there in the summer when I was a kid. I've fished on many of the area lakes. I had an aunt & uncle that lived on Lake Stony. They passed away a few years ago and my cousin is building a new home on the land. I plan to get up there to see it this coming summer.

OK not to misslead anyone, You just have to buy a smaller spot next to 160 acres of federal land like I did, The stuff with the water across the road is that. So how about that all of you own what I look at every day.

Bob, you are correct, I am not much of a fisherman, but then I don't have many opportunities in my neck of the woods(make that prairie).

When you hook on to one of these, you know you're not in Kansas anymore.

M,B. Those are some nice fish. There are 2 things I want to do before I croak, That (Salmon) and elk hunt. I like those Open plains, I always picture Big white tails and mule deer. Neet to see the photos, some of us will never see certain parts of the country, but through photos we can. Hope some of the other guy's get their cameras shooting.

My problem at the moment is too many images. My back up hard drive is full and I went an bought a 15 mpixel camera. I can see that I am about to purchase more computer.

I, too, see the world though other people's eyes. I have an atlas right here by the computer and must look up where people are from, then I highlight the town. This old farm boy rarely strays from the old prairie, but I have had the privilege of going to Alaska to fish and Colorado to hunt elk.

Here's what I wake up to every morning. Yeah right, I wish. This is a place near Rand, CO that my parents have. The view is amazing. These pictures do it no justice. Most of the land you see belongs to a large ranch that surrounds us.

I just wake up looking at a small park every morning...and a bunch of prarie dogs behind me. Oh well, maybe some day...

Beautiful

BTW, is the old policeman still in his car in Rand?

I can't believe you're familiar with Rand! It's such a small dot on the map. Yeah, the old policeman is still sitting there. You think he would have givin up by now.

Yeah, it's in elk country. I've seen some big bulls on the ranch behind us. In fact, that's the problem, they know where the private land is, and they head straight for it during hunting season. I'm still looking for my first bull.

Glad to hear the old cop is still slowing the drivers down in Rand. There was a man that lived here in Dodge that I hunted birds with some and I mentioned that, then he mentioned something about a deer or elk mount(don't remember now) in a general store in Rand that he had something to do with. Been a lot of years since that conversation, so I forget some of the details.

Chadbritt,

Those are some amazing pics my friend!! Thanks for sharing. I thought KS was the single most beautiful place in the world (I've not made it out of KS much!). I gotta get out to CO sometime and see this first hand.....
