I used to spend thousands of hours duck hunting.

Alaska is a great place for retrievers...no heartworm, ticks, thorns, fire ants, poison ivy, skunks, etc.
Grouse/ptarmigan season is Aug 10-March 30, possession limit on ducks/ptarmigan is 30 birds each.
But we do have lots of skeeters:

Ellie turns 5 tomorrow. All I can say is the past five Fall hunting seasons have been an absolute treat hunting behind her. My wife had the attached video on her phone and we had forgotten about until she started cleaning up her photo library on her phone while on a 3+ hour plane ride.

Here is a highlight video I made from two years ago. So much fun to go back and watch these and reminisce. My all-time favorite clip is at about 4:40 mark. She held that point while we closed the distance of roughly 200 yards.
