Laser Therapy

I have an 8 year old GSP that has a chip bone trauma injury on her rear leg from a hunting incident. My vet has treated her with antibiotics and Low-level laser therapy, which stimulate cell regeneration and increase blood circulation. This noninvasive procedure is also known as cold laser therapy or Class IV laser therapy, it is still a relatively new concept that is being used more to treat dogs with arthritis, tendon or soft tissue injuries and to promote wound healing.

I have seen immediate results in her recovery. It is relatively inexpensive compared to surgery. I thought I would pass on my success on this procedure in event that someone is unaware of this option.

Wonder if this procedure would help speed up recovery times after a acl surgery?? Cut the time down from 8-12 months to maybe a couple months?? that would be awesome if it could! :10sign:

From what I understand and from what I have read, Laser Therapy will speed up the recovery process. Another option available for some cases is stem cell Rejuvenation. Try contacting a vet clinic in your area that has Laser Therapy.

Hopefully I will never run into a torn ACL or any injury like that with my dogs but if I do I will make sure to check into it and see what my vet says. It is nice being close to one of the best vet clinics in the nation with the U of M only 20 minutes away. They did a experimental ACL procedure on my dads yellow over 10 years ago and she is still going strong!!
