Bill Snyder has worked miracles at k-state, twice. You can say what you want about the cupcakes but that is his design. He builds confidence and win totals playing nobodies until he can knock off a usually overrated Texas or OU and get himself in the top ten. Then he has a shot. Are they ever going to be on the level of Alabama or LSU, probably not. But considering you have to recruit that many athletes to Manhattan, he is a freakin genius. After all who would want to go to KSU? Much less live there
I am a huge Bill Self fan. It is much easier to recruit 6 or 8 good basketball players than it is 20-25 good football players. Overall I think Snyder has had a tougher go.

I am so glad that we got Bill Snyder and not KU. Its so much fun to be able to throw out the Football butt kickings we have given them, when they are gloating about basketball.

I remember visiting KSU as a highschool senior, and checking out Manhattan. I honestly made up my mind to come here immediately, and pretty much blew through the KU campus tour without giving Lawrence a second look. Of course KSU also had a far superior program for the degree I wanted at the time...
But, objectively speaking, I think what you say is pretty accurate. It is difficult to recruit to Manhattan. I posted on another thread, tighter budget, smaller stadium, less fan base, less media coverage, no celebrities on the sidelines, etc.. On paper there is no reason why KSU should be successful. BUT THEY ARE!!! Why anybody would badmouth them is far beyond me.
If ANYBODY wins out in the Big 12, I would be shocked if they don't go to the championship. Winning out would mean beating a slew of ranked teams. It would take a situation where multiple power conferences had undefeated teams, and even then it would still surprise me a little. But there is a lot of football to watch between now and then.
I'm not sure anybody in the Big 12 is dominant enough to go undefeated this season. Just what I've seen so far... LSU played North Texas and gave up two touchdowns but won comfortably. I hope the Cats have their heads in this game and are not looking forward to Oklahoma too early. It seems like so many of those "cinderella" wins take place the week before a huge game.

I don't think anyone will win out in the b12, but you can be sure that if they do they will be playing for the national title. Ostate almost played for it last year with one loss. As far as Kstates facilities, don't forget they are in the middle of a 70 million dollar stadium upgrade.

after all the talk last year you still dont know who i pull for i dont need to pull for them because they are constantly putting hardware on the shelves national title after national title they know how to get it done and forum theres a reason why they get the cream of the crop talent lol some people just dont get it a cotton bowl game just dont cut it in bama they have his ass run out of town how many titles are sitting in manhatten??? what i thought (ZELCH) keep on beating your heads against the wall you will always play in the cotton bowl or even better yet the lovely missouri year end year out alomo bowl ROLL TIDE

You are always talking how great the SEC is. I was just pointing out Arkansas got creamed by a nobody. Sec good about 3 deep. I will bet you however much you want to bet, that any team going undefeated in b12 will play for a national title. We will donated money to pheasants forever.

You stated earlier that Kstate could win out and still not play for a national title. I called you on it and you won't bet me. Any team that runs the b12 will play for a national title. And Ou, WV, TCU or even Kstate could do it. My guess is Ou and Wv has the best chance.
How do people even read this crap? I know this is just a forum but throw some punctuation or a capital letter in there. At least be smart enough to spell correctly. Must have been an Alabama grad. Wait, I think Alabama has higher standards that that.

You can sure tell when guy's have not burned enough powder yet!!!! Season is coming, Hang in there!!!! In the end it is only Football! I know there are many Passionate folks that live and die with their Teams! Many take offense to comments that are directed at their Passion! But in the end, it is still Football! There are bigger tragedies in the World and in Life!!! Hope everyone at the end of the day can still sit down and have a Beer with one another!!!!:thumbsup:

cheesy i didnt i worked down there a few years ago and after learning how big football and how the people live and bring there kids up the midwest isnt in no comparison they just dont have a clue, so after many years of coming up short cheering for the big 12 and missouri i saw how people acted there it was like they knew they would win and just laughed at the teams i would talk about like mu , ku , kstate or whoever and i would go home why are they laughing and snickering ? Because they already knew who the better schools were lol It just took me lots longer than others v john is right maybe i am dumb lol
