Iowa harvest

I am going to south central Iowa for a couple days the week after opening weekend and was curious if anyone had an idea how far along the harvest might be?

I live in Scott County along the eastern edge. I see a few bean fields done and some corn out but not too much. If the weather stays dry there should be a lot more coming out before the season opens. A frost would help.

If Eastern Kansas is any indicator, corn just started coming out this week. Beans still all in. Good luck out there.

Crops are coming out

Some crops are coming out near Des Moines now. Just talked to my uncle in northern Iowa and the combines are moving up there. He said Friday night they are supposed to get a killing frost and that will really help the rest of the crops that aren't ready yet.

In NW Iowa things should be mostly done.

Big winds this week, the birds should have lots of corn to find this winter.

You're welcome.
