Hunting with a Husky

All I can say is, one of these geese would not have been recoverable if not for a Husky. In fact, not many could have done such a retrieve, besides a Husky. Don't sell a Husky short, they can be amazing at times

Am I missing an inside joke here? Aren't those two good-looking Chesapeakes next to you guys? Maybe husky Chesapeakes, but Chesapeakes all the same?

Dog? no..no dog...LOL..I had to pull you guys leg for a bit on this one

Here's my husky's fine retrieve

Ya that's right, that's a 10lb Canadian honker stuck in that birch. If you can believe that?

I just had to have fun with this one..because I'm pretty sure it won't happen again. At least I hope not. The Birch was suffering from Birch Bore worm anyways, so I dropped it to retrieve my goose but I had to drive 6-7 miles home get the saw and drive back. Then walk back in a half a mile to get to it. LOL

WOW you got me i was thinking a husky dog came by and made a good retrieve good husky and good catch for the tree :)

That's pretty funny. How many shells did you go thru trying to shoot the branch? I would have burned up a few before getting the saw. Nice retrieve

Don't think I haven't trimmed a tree or two in my day with a shotgun or rifle. This branch was too big and too high up to try and shoot off. Besides, the goose was stuck tight in the crotch of the branch and I would shot the heck out of the bird.

The Snowshoe made himself a target when we were looking for one of the geese. My son shot it. Then gave it to his grandpa and grandma for supper.

When I coon hunted 25 years ago, "hanging one" happened on several occasions. I found if you made a clean head shot they would usually kick enough to roll themselves out of any limb crotch they were lying in.

Hitting a goose and having it wedge in a crotch is new to me! I imagine the odds on that are fairly high.
