How many of you let birds go?

Back when limit of geese was 3. I had bought tungsten iron off of the clearance rack the year before.
A flock of geese was coming in low on the water. The first shell I dropped the lead bird. The second shell they were lined up and I dropped 3 more.
I was so paranoid I hid 1 under my seat. I sweat the whole way home.

If I recommend hiding over-limit birds under your seat in the future please rest assured it is just my flippant sense of humor at play, and not a serious suggestion for how to break the law. :)

I thought this was about shooting at young birds. No, I do not shoot at young birds, I consider that to be low brow. I don't know one single person that has never shot a hand, so all these people that say that they have never done that, I have to call b*******t.

Over the 30+ years I’ve been pheasant hunting extensively, mostly in SD, many of those years in groups of 6-8, some hens have accidentally been shot, and I’ve seen an equal # hit power/phone lines and die, but 50-100x more or greater have been grabbed by dogs while hunkered in heavy cover, especially when there’s a fair amount of snow…but it happens in snowless times as well…I try my best to prevent it if possible…many times you can’t see the dog…
