How many dogs do you have

Two GSPs but I have hunted with as many as 7 GSPs at one time. When my dad comes down we hunt 3-4 dogs at a time usually. This year will be a bit different since his friend will be bringing a Pointing Lab and a couple more GSPs too. None the less it is a ton of fun to see a group of dogs point/honor each other or to point different individual birds at the same time. Whatever you run good luck this season guys and get some pics of the dogs in action for a fella overseas during this magical time of year.

2 sometimes, One springer and a setter that I just got over the winter but he's on the shelf most of the time. Hunting grouse and woodcock in Sept. he stabbed himself in the mouth with a stick or something sharp and almost bled to death, thank heaven for EMT gel, 15 stitches under his tongue and a trip to the emergency vet for a transfusion he needed a week or ten days off. Mid Oct. we go to ND he comes up lame, he has a torn shoulder and Lyme, and needs a month off. I did take him out early for a couple of runs and a short hunt, he had several unproductive points but his leg looks good, one more week and I can get him on Phez. He had never hunted Phez he was used as a cover dog so he needs lots of contacts to figure them out. Springer 2 Setter 0

I've only got the 1 GSP that I got from huntn4fun-.

According to the documents I've got a 9 year old that is kept at my parents, he was a pup while I was still in college, so he just kind of stayed there and is mom/dads dog. Not the most stylish dog, doesn't have the best nose in the world, but he has sure put us on a ton of pheasants over the years.

Brother in law has a 5 or 6 year old shorthair that goes with us, and this year a contractor buddy will be taking his 7 year old shorthair.

5 of us will be hunting, unless the dogs get into too many fights, all 4 will be on the ground.

How many dogs does everybody have for hunting? How many do you normally run at a time?

I have 3. 2 springer spaniels and a 6 month old red setter.

I have 4 EP 2 GSP and 3 Beagles all are hunters:cheers:

Just One Huntin' Dawg

Just my rescue pup, Gus the Brittany.

2 gwp's 1 yr old female and 10 month old male this will be the first season for both so it should be an interesting year

Three labs. Mom 9yrs old, son 5yrs old and daughter 3yrs old. My son has a 10wk old lab from the 3yr old. Will be in SD the second week of December.

I have an 9 year old Lab who I had to retire several years ago due to seizures. I also have a FBECS that does all my bird hunting for me. 2 dogs for now.

Cheesy,

I got one of those shorthairs too, but mine is a male. Excellent dog just like his mother and father. He had the thing figured out by the end of last season and was nothing short of impressive on the youth opener. How's yours doing thusfar? My dad got one as well and his seems to be coming along nicely.....he let her get fat, but she's a good hunter.

Oh, in case I hadn't responded to the OP yet, 4 dogs..2 britts, 1 GWP, and 1GSP.

I've got 2, A GSP who is about 10 months old and my main hunting partner of the future. We also have a 1 1/2 year old lab who doesn't really show interest in hunting but is a great housedog.

2 American Water Spaniels...... almost always hunt with a friend who also has 2 AWS. We usually hunt two at a time.
AWSUE

I have a single golden for the time being. I'd like to add a second dog so I can rotate to keep everyone energized when on trips.

Two English Cockers. Macy, 2.5 years; and Rocky, 7 months. Both get trained and used a lot. Would never go back to owning just one dog...actually would like to get a third sometime!

I agree. I have two flushers and a setter. It would be nice to add another setter.

4 in my lifetime (3 labs, 1 golden) - all great combo waterfowl & upland...usually some overlap w/2 at a time, but only 1 right now...thinking about some kind of pointing dog for my next one, since I FINALLY live in pheasant country!

2X.

Same here- our Rocky is 4 and Scout is 5. They are grouse/wc specialists but we really enjoy a week of chasing roosters every fall in SoDak.
Both mine were born and bred in North Dakota.
