Hello Fellas,

Been lurking, posting little snippets here and there for quite a while. Figured I should go ahead and intro myself.

Grew up in SE KS on farm west of Iola until I was 22. Moved to Springfield area (BASS PRO!) with wife and raised 3 children there for 10 yrs. Just moved back to area in 2007 in which the first thing I did (when eligible) was buy a LIFETIME HUNTING LICENSE!! That's one I regretted after we moved to MO was not buying the lifetime lic. Had to buy non-res to come back and hunt on family ground....argh

Anyway, good to trade ideas, tips, etc here. Currently looking for some good Brittany pups --- my 9 yr old daughter is my outdoor partner and dog lover. My boys rather play video games, go figure. Here's a pic of my sweety with her new bday present she bought with bday money....

Hi southernblues. Well, thanks for introducing yourself and good to have you aboard!

Plenty of good guys on the forum board with a good sense of humor. MR Byrd will occasionally post some pictures of him as a bum surfing the internet, UGUIDE will make fun of me as will JBBZ71. If the rest of the guys haven't poked fun of me yet, I welcome it.

Ryan

PS I'll be in Kansas next month.

Welcome southernblues. It's good to have an outdoor partner like that. My daughter who is almost 5 is my outdoors partner as well. Pull up a chair and make yourself at home.

Southernblues-

Welcome to the forum. I, too, have a Kansas lifetime hunting and fishing license, the best bargain a going. Glad you have a hunting partner.

Welcome SB :coolpics: of a future Bow Hunter I hope I can get my boys to do that when the time comes.

Welcome from the TX Panhandle...I ate at a place called Trotters in Springfield a long time ago...great buffet...have fun with UPH.

Welcome to UPH, I'm from Washington State and now you guys have me wishing I still lived back there. Oh Well such is life. I have a Brittany and I shoot a 20 and 28 gauges when in the field. Yes that little 28 will kill a Pheasant deader than you may think and at some pretty good ranges too.---Bob

Welcome

Good to have you Southernblues! Gotta keep the Kansas numbers up! Don't be shy, good exchange of ideas and tall tales.

Light Guage on Pheasant

I'm often surprised by how few shot are in my pheasants. No doubt that 28s and .410s are sufficient for pheasant, although I use a 12.

light 12

Man i went pheasant hunting with two buddies and they were carrying 28s and all i saw was feathers and altered flight made me so mad after walking my you know what off . you need a 12 late season no dought in my mind. Just my opinion

only a pointer, there is one thing to remember about a 28 or any other gun for that matter. The gun is only as good as the person shooting it.....Bob
