View attachment 2924I have been told for years my hunt days were over but have defied the odds for 13 yrs. After a resent trip to Mayo Clinic I guess I am at the end. Going back in a month for surgery if I can come up with the extra money and will not be able to do hard walking or hunting anymore afterwards. Pheasant hunting,Its been great to me over the 25 years and no regrets. Here it is,
1. I have a Great 3 year and couple month old Registered English Setter $1000.00
2. Purchased new this year Remington 11-87 26"Barrel 3" 12 ga with extra youth sized stock ( speed feed) $400
3 TriTronics Classic 70 ecollar purchased new 2 months ago $200
4 Aluminum dog box , damaged but works , several boxes pheasant loads for free
All for $1500.00
About Fancy my dog. My wife got her for me as a gift to get me back to hunting this last October as she was to be a finished dog I could enjoy. She has been as good as I could ask. I shot over 125 plus birds in all this year, $1000.00 worth of quail, chuckers and one great wild pheasant hunt . She has a good a nose as I have seen in years, finds birds fast, has held every single point without failure, no jumping in or creeping period. Was a tad rangy for me . She would get out 100 yrds so I used the ecollar just to nick and got her in say 50 yrds or closer when I wanted mainly for pheasant hunting.. That's all I ever used the collar for. The last few times out I never said a word she learned very quick as for how I wanted her to hunt . She did great on the first pheasant hunt in NW Kansas for me this year. Would have came home bag-less without her. She hunts dead great, she is a natural backer. If she has a flaw its fetching. Some days she fetches every bird perfect without fail. Some days she will chase, hunt dead , pickup and get bout 10 ft from me and drop. She was suppose to have been forced broke but I don't think so. She more likely to drop a chuck-er or pheasant than a quail. She has fetched the last 23 birds in a role. She one time lifted a foot on a walking quail ( in the video you can see)that I know of and I said whoop and she froze, that was 100 birds ago. Fellows I just say how it is , Fancy for me is one the best pointing dogs I ever had. Many times we went into 40 acres with 6 chuckers and found em all in 30 min with ease, the last hunt we found all 15 quail in 40 acres and in 60 min and got em all. She has a awesome nose and seems to get all the wind just right. I had her pointing chuckers at 10 plus yards with ease. Here is a video of her on quail http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcq9LvQ861o Attached is a few pics. I lost all but one in a computer crash. The dog box was hit by ups in the drive but both doors still work. Please ask any questions ya wish please. Thanks Dave
