What kind of gloves is the general recommendation? I am think about the Orvis upland gloves.
Those are one of my warmer weather options also. Downside is absorb water like a sponge. Had them on one afternoon and dog had a water retrieve and I took the bird with the glove on and that was it for the day for that glove. But overall a good option.I like Cabelas Camoskinz II. They have tacky material on the plantar surface which makes holding the gun easier by allowing a lighter grip. They also allow good trigger sensitivity. They are not dead-of-winter warm.
Another bird hunting forum I go to has several recommending this glove. I bought my 2 pairs a couple days ago to give a try. Most of the year I wear Cabretta leather work gloves from Sam’s Club. $20/2 pair. Tough gloves.

How well do those last. They were on my Christmas list last year. Might have to try again.First Lite Shale Hybrid Gloves
I haven't had any issues with durability with mine. But I only wear them when it's very cold.. Considering how thin they are they work very well keeping my hands warm. How well do those last. They were on my Christmas list last year. Might have to try again.
