We have a 3 acre pond that is 50 yds out back door. It was cleaned/dug out 2 yrs ago (before we moved here) to which it was really stagnant at the time.

what's your suggestions o'wise council?

pond aeration? a windmill would look cool in my backyard
grass carp? heard mix reviews that this worked
rake by hand?

anybody familiar with algae and biofuel? as in converting into?

i have had good luck with grass carp in a pond that size. Price wise you can't beat um. I made the mistake of using chemicals one time. Phucked up and used too much. Needless to say the garden was fertilized well that year.

You might want to try controlling your algae growth by spreading barley straw since it is cheap and effective. Generally most effective when used from November through spring, it seems to keep the algae at bay during the season. The straw should be removed from the pond before it starts to decompose and begins adding nutrients to the water. Many people include barley straw as a media layer in the bio-filter where it is out of sight.
