Game warden checks?

I've never been checked or even seen a game warden here in Iowa in the previous 5+ years but I'd honestly welcome it as I imagine they'd be interesting to shoot the shit with. When I used to live in Utah, it felt like I got checked or ran into a stop at least once a season and, probably had as much to do with the fact that we were never in violation of anything, they were always pretty pleasant to deal with and, if they had time, they'd usually shoot the breeze for a bit.

How is wild pheasant hunting in Utah? I read a summary but it was written 75 years ago. It had good pockets then.
